Console
Linked sign-in methods
Default behavior (no silent merge)
Microsoft work or school, Google, and Apple each create a separate Console identity until you explicitly link them. Signing in with a second provider that uses the same mailbox does not attach you to an existing Liminal organization automatically — that protects your tenant from email-only account takeover.
If you already created a workspace with Google and later sign in with Microsoft using the same email, Console asks you to sign in with Google again and link Microsoft from Account settings — or to confirm that you intentionally want a separate organization (discouraged).
Link a second provider
- Sign in with the provider you used to create the organization (for example Google).
- Open Account → Linked sign-in methods.
- Choose Add sign-in method and complete sign-in for Microsoft, Google, or Apple in the popup.
- Confirm the link when both methods show the same verified email address.
- Sign out and sign in with the second provider — you should reach the same tenant dashboard.
Remove a method
You can remove a linked provider when at least one other sign-in method remains. You cannot remove the method you are currently using — sign in with another linked provider first.
When linking is not offered
- Different emails — including Apple Hide My Email relays that do not match your primary mailbox — are treated as different people. Liminal does not guess or merge them.
- Another organization — if the second sign-in is the only administrator of a different entitled tenant, resolve that organization first or keep them separate.
